After the engineer visited, he found that the house was settling down in the clay soil. I had the powerbraces installed first because of the gap between the foundation wall and house but I will need piers installed in the future.

I don't know if the price is determined by the size of the house or the number of days the men have to work, or both. We were told the job would take 3 days. The two men were very efficient and finished in 1 1/2 days. Also, in the initial contract it was stated that basement steps would have to be removed and then reinstalled. That did not have to be done saving time. My guess is that when a job is priced, the number of work hours is considered. The only thing that I need to follow up on is, when the crew was leaving, he mentioned giving us some extra carpet squares in case of spills or stains and both of us forgot when he left. We just got talking and didn't remember. I would still like to have some in case they are needed.

I was impressed with quality of product - you use THE BEST sump pumps on the market and back up everything with warranty. The crew was very smart and took the time to show me how the drainage looked when they dug it up and explained what they were installing as they did it... added to my confidence that my problems will be GONE!!
